Interesting PR article here on the recent Celebrity Social Media 'digital deaths' in the U.S. - what was I am sure a Social Media campaign intended to do good and raise money has undoubtedly backfired, not least on the people that 'died', who now have to wait until another $800,000 is raised before they can use their Social Media accounts again! This has been somewhat of a PR disaster for them.

I have to completely agree with the article in that this is quite possibly the worst use of Social Media, it goes completely against what Social Media is all about and I also have to say that it is rather arrogant of these celebs to think that people's worlds will fall apart because they don't get their PR and Social Media updates.

All credit to them for trying something but perhaps next time a little more thought and a little less self-importance might be the order of the day.
