PR Daily EU News: Public Relations news and marketing in the age of social media
I took part in the latest #commschat Twitter event last night which was discussing how the 'Real World' views events vs the 'PR World'. If you haven't taken part you should, it's really easy, basically check out the #commschat hashtag and start following @CommsChat. The main event last night was organised/run by @vikkichowney (Editor of Reputation Online) who virtually 'Chaired' the event and made sure everyone's comments were re-tweeted and organised so that the event didn't end up as a mess of tweets. There was some great comment and debate going on and many differing views and opinions which is always a good thing. Best of all it is a great way of making new contacts and sharing a bit of virtual time with people that you might not ordinarily come into contact with.
The transcript from the event is published immediately afterwards so you can go back and re-read what was said, all participants @'s are visible so you can go back later and follow those that you wish to carry on the contact with.
This is Social Media at its best in my opinion and worth keeping the time free in the evening to join in.
